History of Yellow Journalism

Yellow Journalism is usually a exaggeration. It's used to catch people's attention, and make you believe something that isn't exactly what they make it out to be. Some people believe that it started because of the Industrial Revolution. It also started in the late 19th century when Joeseph Pultizer wrote, The New York World. Also, when William Randolph Hearst wrote, The New York Journal. Both of those papers contained overwhelming and distorted stories, also known as yellow journalism. (Koonce).

Example of Yellow Journalism:

This image is an example of yellow journalism because it attracts readers to make them think that President Bush was on cocaine. It tries to catch peoples attention by saying something that may or may not be true.

They want people to believe that Lamar Odom, Kim Kardashian's husband, betrayed or had an affair on Khloe Kardashian. They wrote this article just to catch peoples attention so they would pick it up, read it, and get the wrong idea. It's exaggerating the truth about something that might not have even happened.
